Did you know that the GFAA is 90 Years Old?

Join us for our " Kick Off "to the explosion of Plein Air events beginning April 11th. and extending through GFAA's special ArtWalk Exhibit at The Doris with an artists' reception, on June 28th.

GFAA is planning a Plein Air Paintout for Saturday, June 1st. Work from this paintout will be exhibited at the Doris from June 10th-28th.

At the April 11th General Meeting, talented plein air artist and teacher, Karen LeMonnier of the High Springs Art Co-op, will explain the passion and fun of plein air. Find out why people are so excited about plein air. How do you do it? What do you need besides a hat, water and bug spray? Get answers and grab the passion just in time for our big paintout. Karen has graciously agreed to conduct a mini plein air workshop on Friday, May 31, the day BEFORE our BIG paintout for the novice or someone who wants to practice down at Sweet Water Branch Park.

Also,Tim Malles of The Hogtown Painters Plein Air Group, will give us an update of the many activities they are conducting.

Patricia Veatch will update us on the GFAA ongoing Plein Air Group.

GFAA's Plein Air Coordinating Committee will brief everyone on the big JUNE First Paintout with details and application forms which will round out this awesome event. The day long paint out will capture the charm of historic Gainesville with painting venues in The Historic Duck Pond, the Matheson Museum Site and The Pleasant Street Historic District.
