Ron Haase is better known for his Cracker-style homes than for his collages and pastels.
Haase’s research into the old ways of building in Florida led to his popular book, CLASSIC CRACKER, published
by Pineapple Press.
Since then he has explored the use of art to combine his love of architecture with his new found enjoyment of
painting, producing scenes of old boat houses and moss-draped cypress trees along the edge of Melrose Bay where Ron
and his wife Janet live.
“Bringing a lifetime of architectural thinking into my new work as a painter. This is the direction I would like
to see my art take”, Haase says: e-mail haase@ufl.edu
