The GFAA fall season is starting with workshops, exhibitions and membership meetings.  We hope you will join us!

Program: Stefan Lohrer - Seminar/Demonstration
Stefan will demonstrate Caran d'Ache water color pencils with samples and a door prize set of 30 Supracolor and a set of 16 Luminance.

Alex and Abhi from fractureme.com will also be speaking about fracture photography.

2011 Florida Artists Juried Exhibition

Call for entries

Exhibition dates: January 6 - February 3, 2011
Juror: Ben Thompson, Curator, Museum of Contemporary Art, Jacksonville, FL
Entry fee: $40 ($35 GFAA members) for up to three works.
Awards: $1500 total cash awards, $1000 best of show.
Entry deadline: must be received by November 19, 2010

The Secret Weapons of Colored Pencil

Arm yourself with the secret weapons of colored pencil!
As a fine art medium, colored pencil is versatile, inexpensive, and easy to master. Whether you are new to colored pencils or experienced with them, you will discover techniques that produce beautiful results.  

Tuition is $135 ($100 for GFAA members)

JumpstART III: The Medici Effect - Connecting Creativity and Commerce

Date: Saturday, October 30, 2010
Location: UF Bryan Hall 232
Cost: $20 (includes morning coffee, bagels and lunch)

Similar to the launch of the Renaissance by the Medici family in Florence, Italy, bringing together both sides of the brain across disciplines allows new ideas to blossom, leading to unprecedented innovation and ideation. This workshop will play on the intersection of creativity and commerce.
