ART CENTER CAMPAIGN

GFAA has launched a campaign to raise funds to build its own art center. Such a center would have facilities for multiple simultaneous art shows, workshops, art classes for children and adults, a kitchen to support receptions and banquets, as well as storage and other facilities.

The campaign began in February, 2003 with an Internal Capital Campaign that involved only GFAA's members. It has been quite successful, with commitments of over $45,000 from over 60% of the members. This campaign continues with every new member as well as the pledged funds that come in routinely from current members.

The Local Public Campaign is designed to seek support from local individuals, businesses, and professional people. This campaign began in late June with a kickoff event consisting of a 3-day silent auction of donated original fine art, as well as a live auction on the third day.
